How Mwalimuswaps works
From sign-up to your swapmate in eight steps.

Create your account
Choose Primary, JSS or Secondary, then add your name, phone number, TSC number and email. In the same sign-up you say where you teach now (county, sub-county and school, which you find by searching the Ministry list) and where you want to go. Then confirm your email.

Get verified
Upload a photo of your TSC card. A real person checks it against the TSC number you gave, then the photo is deleted. Your TSC number is never shown to anyone.

Your station
Pick your county and sub-county, then your school. Primary and JSS teachers search the primary schools list, Secondary teachers the secondary list. Secondary and JSS teachers also add their subjects.

Say where you want to go
Add up to five destinations. For each one, choose "any school in the county" (more possible swapmates) or "only a particular sub-county" (if that is the only place you would move to).

We match you
We look for verified teachers in your section who teach in a place you want, and want a place you teach, with overlapping subjects. Matches are Perfect, Strong or Possible.

Both say yes
You see a match without names or contacts. If you are both interested, it becomes a mutual match.

Unlock and connect
Each of you pays KSh 299 to unlock the other's phone, email and school. Then call, WhatsApp or email to agree the swap.

Apply for the official transfer
Mwalimuswaps connects you. The transfer itself is handled by TSC through its normal process.
What it costs
Joining is free. Finding matches is free. You pay KSh 299 only when you want to unlock the contact details of a swapmate who has also said yes. Pay by M-Pesa.
